1.Human Rights and Labor Policy
Basic policy
Daisho Denshi understands international guidelines and practices relating to human rights and will respect human rights. In addition, we will maintain a safe and comfortable working environment in which each person respects personality and character of others and values diversity to maximize the motivation and potential of employees.
【Action Guidelines】
Respect for human rights
- ・We will respect and honor the human rights of all stakeholders.
- ・We endeavor to assess, prevent realization of and reduce the risks of negative impacts on human rights within the Company including the
- supply chains and will implement appropriate measures if any infringement occurs.
Non-discrimination/non-harassment
- ・We do not tolerate discrimination and harassment based on race, color, age, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression,
- ethnicity or national origin, disability, pregnancy, religion, political affiliation, union membership, covered veteran status, protected genetic
- information or marital status in hiring and employment practices such as wages, promotions, rewards, and access to training.
- ・We will never engage in harsh or inhumane treatment including violence, gender-based violence, sexual harassment, sexual abuse, corporal
- punishment,mental or physical coercion, bullying, public shaming, or verbal abuse.
- ・Workers or potential workers will be subjected to medical checkups or health checks by a physician for the purpose of compliance with
- applicable laws and regulations, maintenance of occupational safety and health and maintenance of good health, but they will not be
- subjected to medical tests, including pregnancy or virginity tests, or physical exams that could be used in a discriminatory way.
- ・An act of discrimination or harassment is subject to disciplinary actions according to the employee manual and other policies. We will provide
- necessary remediation and protection for victims, including protection of individuals who have reported such an act, and never allow any
- retaliation against them.
Respect for diversity
- ・We endeavor to act by understanding different cultures, religions and customs of different countries and regions and valuing diversity.
- At a workplace where a lot of employees need certain facilities to follow their religious practices, we will endeavor to provide appropriate
- facilities for them. We will also endeavor to provide reasonable assistance and opportunities for employees with disabilities.
Prohibition of forced labor
- ・We will not tolerate or allow forced labor in any form, including but not limited to bonded (including debt bondage), or indentured labor,
- involuntary or exploitive prison labor, slavery or trafficking of persons.
- ・We will not impose unreasonable restrictions on workers’ freedom of movement in the facility in addition to unreasonable restrictions on
- entering or exiting company-provided facilities (including workers’ dormitories or living quarters).
- ・We will take the following measures to prevent forced labor when executing an employment agreement with workers:
- ✓ All workers will be provided with a written employment agreement in their native language, or in a language the worker can understand,
- that contains a description of terms and conditions of employment.
- ✓ Foreign migrant workers will receive the employment agreement prior to the worker departing from his or her country of origin and
- there will be no substitution or change(s) in the employment agreement upon arrival in the receiving country unless these changes are
- made to meet local law and provide equal or better terms.
- ✓ Workers will be free to leave work at any time or terminate their employment without penalty if reasonable notice is given in accordance
- with workers’ contracts.
- ・We will not hold, require workers to provide, destroy, conceal or confiscate workers’ identity or immigration documents, such as
- government-issued identification, passports, or work permits unless it is necessary to comply with laws and regulations. If holding such
- documents is necessary to comply with the laws and regulations, we will not deny any request from workers to access their documents.
- ・We will not require workers to pay recruitment fees or deposits in any form for their employment. If any such fees or deposits are found to
- have been paid by a worker, we will repay such fees to the worker.
Prohibition of child labor; restriction on employment of young workers
- ・We will never use child labor in our business activities. The term “child” refers to any person under the age of 15, or under the age for
- completing compulsory education, or under the minimum legal age for employment in the country or region, whichever is greatest.
- If child labor is identified, we will provide assistance/remediation for the child worker.
- ・We will not allow workers under the age of 18 (young workers) to perform work that is likely to jeopardize their health or safety, including
- night shifts and overtime.
- ・We will use government-issued documents to verify the age of workers when executing an employment agreement in order to prohibit child
- labor and restrict employment of young workers described above.
- ・We will ensure proper management of student workers through proper maintenance of student records, rigorous due diligence of educational
- partners, and protection of students’ rights in accordance with applicable laws and regulations and provide appropriate support and training
- to all student workers. In the absence of local law, the wage rate for student workers, interns, and apprentices will be at least the same
- wage rate as other entry-level workers performing equal or similar tasks.
Appropriate working conditions
- ・We will manage working hours, days off, leave, wages and other working conditions appropriately in compliance with applicable laws and
- regulations. If there are discrepancies between internationally recognized standards and applicable laws and regulations, we will look for
- methods to respect the international principles on human rights.
- ・We will respect the principles of equal pay for equal work and endeavor to ensure that there is no unreasonable difference in treatment
- between workers.
- ・We will accurately calculate and pay wages as compensation for the work performed and provide a wage statement that is easily
- understandable to employees. We will not allow deductions from wages as a disciplinary measure.

Daisho Denshi will comply with health and safety laws, regulations and rules and ensure that all employees can work safely while maintaining physical and mental health.

Compliance with laws and regulations
- ・We will comply with safety and health laws, regulations and rules.
Mitigation of risks
- ・We will conduct risk assessments of natural disasters and health hazards and take appropriate measures to maintain safety.
Cultivation of safety awareness
- ・We will provide continued education and training on safety and health to raise safety awareness and prevent occupational injury and illness.
Communication
- ・We endeavor to have smooth communication on health and safety matters and build a healthy and safe working environment.
Continual improvement
- ・‒ We will appropriately invest resources in safety and health activities to facilitate effective continual improvement.
- Note: For purposes of this Policy, the term “employee” refers to any employee, temporary employee, contract employee and employee of our business partners, who works at Daisho Denshi.
