Tochigi plant is located in Nikko-city, Tochigi prefecture. This region has quite a lot of lightning, and it has suffered temporary power-outages caused by instantaneous low voltage through lightning strikes.
Then, we introduced LNG (liquefied natural gas) cogeneration system and LNG satellite equipment in order to maintain a steady production line uninfluenced by lightning surges, and furthermore reducing carbon dioxide emissions in March, 2008.
As a result, the power supply of the main facility was substituted from a general electric power to LNG cogeneration system, and a stable power supply was achieved.
We continue to expand activities, including energy reduction (electric power usage) and CO2 reduction as well as production with consideration to the environment.
