Important notice regarding the abolition of PPAP for sending emails
Daisho Electronics Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "our company") has adopted the so-called PPAP method, which encrypts files attached to emails (compressed files with a password) and sends the password separately, but will discontinue this method on August 25, 2024.
As an alternative measure, we have decided to switch to sending emails using the "authenticated attachment download link method."
We ask for the understanding and cooperation of our customers and business partners.
Please note that this initiative only applies to emails sent from our company (domain: @daisho-denshi.co.jp).
There will be no changes to the handling of emails received by our company.
<Background to the abolition>
Traditionally, the so-called PPAP method has been widely used as a highly versatile means of ensuring encryption on the communication path, and our company has also adopted it.
However, in recent years, this method has security risks, such as evading malware inspections when receiving emails, and there have been many reports of it being abused in malware attacks such as Emotet.
In addition, since the Cabinet Office announced the complete abolition of PPAP in November 2020, most central government ministries and national agencies have also been moving to abolish it.
Given this background, we have decided to discontinue the use of the PPAP method in order to reduce security risks for not only our company but also our business partners.
